Create a backup

Open More > Backup and restore > Create full backup. Keep the app open until the file is ready, then save it outside Propivio using the system dialog. A standard backup contains your records and attachments, but excludes protected payment data and the Plus purchase status. Standard backup and restore are available in Free.

Creating and restoring an encrypted backup require Plus. Choose Create encrypted backup, enter a name and a password of at least 10 characters, and keep the password separately. This backup includes protected payment data. Propivio cannot recover a forgotten password.

Restore or change devices

First save a current backup outside the app. Choose Restore from backup or Restore encrypted backup, select the matching file, enter the password if needed, read the warning and confirm. Restore replaces current local data; it does not merge two sets of records. Keep the app open. Propivio checks the file and creates a local recovery point before replacement.

For a device change, transfer the saved file to the new device and restore it there. Restore the Plus purchase separately if needed. Do not rely on automatic Android device migration to transfer your Propivio data.

Old backups and shared copies remain unchanged when you delete records. Restoring an older file can bring deleted records back. Backups stored only inside the app do not protect against uninstall or device loss. Keep an external copy and protect access to it.
