Backup and restore

Create a standard backup

Open More > Backup and restore, choose Create full backup, wait for the database, attachments, manifest and checksums, then save the file outside the app through the system dialog. The Plus entitlement is excluded, and protected payment data is excluded from a standard backup.

Plus can create a password-protected encrypted backup using authenticated AES-256-GCM encryption. Propivio never stores or recovers the password.

Restore

Choose Restore from backup or the encrypted restore action, select the file, enter its password when required, review the warning and confirm replacement. Propivio validates format, schema and checksums, stages the data and creates a local recovery point before the swap.

For a device change, create and externally save the file on the old device, install Propivio on the new device, then restore it there. A backup left only in the app sandbox does not protect against uninstall or device loss.
